Scholarship and Grant Opportunities at Drexel
Learn about the different types of gift aid – scholarship and grants – that Drexel offers full-time undergraduate students.

Scholarships and Grants

Scholarships and grants are considered gift aid because they do not need to be repaid. They can be offered by Drexel, state and federal governments, and private organizations. Scholarships are typically based on merit or association with certain organizations, while grants are based on financial need. Once your admission application has been received, you are automatically considered for Drexel merit scholarships. You can learn more on the Grants and Scholarships page.

Fostering Independence Tuition Waiver Program

The Fostering Independence Tuition Waiver Program provides eligible foster youth with a tuition waiver for up to five academic years or until they reach age 26. View more information about the Fostering Independence Tuition Waiver Program.

The Drexel Promise

The Drexel Promise will provide students who have earned an associate degree at an accredited community college with a renewable scholarship for 50% of the cost of tuition as they work to complete their bachelor’s degree as a Drexel Dragon. Learn more about The Drexel Promise.

Federal Work-Study

Federal Work-Study is a program that allows students to earn money while working part-time at Drexel. Eligibility is based on a student's financial need and requires that the student complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You can learn more on the Federal Work-Study page.

Federal Loans

The federal government offers loan options to students and their parents with a variety of beneficial repayment terms. Certain loan programs are based on the family's financial need. A FAFSA must be completed to be considered for these loans. You can learn more on the Loan Options page.

Benefits for Veterans

Drexel offers a variety of tuition benefits and other forms of assistance to military veterans, their spouses, and dependents. Our Veterans' Education Benefits page features information designed to aid veterans in joining the Drexel community.

Financial Resources for International Students

International applicants are automatically considered for merit scholarships when they complete their admission application, and they are encouraged to complete the CSS Profile to be considered for need-based grants. International applicants should also review Financing Options for International Students to view some other private financial resources.
