3D printing lab

1. 3D Printing Lab

Drexel has multiple 3D printing labs. From engineering to product design, Drexel professors incorporate the use of 3D printers as a part of the curriculum. The uses of a 3D printer are limitless. Thus far, Drexel’s 3D printers have been used to produce models of cancer cells, bones of the dinosaur Dreadnoughtus schrani, brand-new inventions created by Drexel students, and more.

Center for Interdisciplinary Clinical Simulation and Practice (CICSP)

3. Center for Interdisciplinary Clinical Simulation and Practice (CICSP)

The Center for Interdisciplinary Clinical Simulation and Practice (CICSP) is a 22,000-square-foot innovative experiential learning lab that allows faculty to immerse learners in domain-specific skills training, experience patient or client encounters in the community (a simulated apartment), outpatient care settings and inpatient care settings including operating rooms. Learners can experience patients and families, portrayed by actors, moving throughout the healthcare continuum.
Gait Lab

4. Gait Lab

The Gait Lab, which is part of the College of Nursing and Health Professions, houses technology used for medicinal purposes. For instance, the motion-camera system allows study of athletes for tracking and treating overuse running injuries.

Behavioral Lab

5. Behavioral Lab

The Behavioral Lab, located on the lower level of Gerri C. LeBow Hall, is a research facility for business-related topics. The Lab allows for test-subject privacy when conducting studies, along with flexibility to easily customize the space and settings according to the researcher’s needs.

6. The Innovation Studio

The College of Engineering’s Innovation Studio at Drexel brings students from all disciplines together in a shared flow through space to collaborate on projects and transition their ideas into reality. In addition to the machine shop, which contains heavy machinery for advanced manufacturing of metal parts, there are woodworking equipment and 3D printers for students to work together and transform an idea into a fabricated, finished, and marketable product. This studio offers our faculty a different way to teach and our students a unique way of learning — by doing and creating.
